HAHA
The Association for Students and Civil Society in the county of Hajdu-Bihar is working since 1996. The organisation"s main aims are to:
- contact the civil organisation at local, regional and international level;
- manage relationship of partner organisations on regional and international level;
- organise and sponsor professional sport and cultural events, cultural heritage events for the students who study at the grammar and secondary schools and in the University of Debrecen;
- organise road shows for the civil organizations and local governments, raising their awareness and promoting road safety for youngsters and drivers during different actions.
Since 2003 The Hungarian Ministry Office gave a chance to HAHA to develop the organisation and to create a Civil Service Center for the Hajdu-Bihar Region. Since this development, our aims evolved to building good relationships between administrative structures, the civil society, the European Information Offices, the Civil Service Centers that work at local, regional and national level. We organise trainings and seminars for the civil organisations.
Since 2007 our association has started road prevention campaigns among the youngsters in Debrecen and the region. We try to reach large number of youngsters through road safety prevention roadshows. The target group is 18 -30 years old. We usually organize music events (concerts, festivals) on these events to promote road safety, road tax changes, and alcohol breathalysers.
Since 2008 we have been cooperating with other associations to strengthen people"s awareness of road safety problems. In the last few years we built a strong connection and cooperation with the regional and the national Road Safety Chamber and the Regional Police Departments. Our goals and aims are the same: less death on the roads, strengthen the awareness on the road among the youngsters, organise prevention campaigns, road shows and programs. IMPACT will give us a rare change to grow into that role by giving us with the chance to acquire new innovative youth-friendly technologies (driving simulator - the tool, we miss so far) for attracting and keeping young people"s interest and attention. It will allow us to directly address the issue, defined by 62% of our LIVES participants as "the most dangerous while you are driving".
HAHA is an active member of the European Youth Forum for Road Safety. We are signatories of the "European Road Safety Charter" and the "European Youth Declaration for Road Safety".
